【摘要】:Corrosiontestingbyitsverynatureprecludescompletestandardization.Thispractice,ratherthanastandardizedprocedure,ispresentedasaguidesothatsomeofthepitfallsofsuchtestingmaybeavoided.Experiencehasshownthatallmetalsandalloysdonotrespondaliketothemanyfactorsthataffectcorrosionandthatx201C;acceleratedx201D;corrosiontestsgiveindicativeresultsonly,ormayevenbeentirelymisleading.Itisimpracticaltoproposeaninflexiblestandardlaboratorycorrosiontestingprocedureforgeneraluse,exceptformaterialqualificationtestswherestandardizationisobviouslyrequired.Indesigninganycorrosiontest,considerationmustbegiventothevariousfactorsdiscussedinthispractice,becausethesefactorshavebeenfoundtoaffectgreatlytheresultsobtained.1.1Thispracticedescribesacceptedproceduresforandfactorsthatinfluencelaboratoryimmersioncorrosiontests,particularlymasslosstests.Thesefactorsincludespecimenpreparation,apparatus,testconditions,methodsofcleaningspecimens,evaluationofresults,andcalculationandreportingofcorrosionrates.Thispracticealsoemphasizestheimportanceofrecordingallpertinentdataandprovidesachecklistforreportingtestdata.OtherASTMproceduresforlaboratorycorrosiontestsaretabulatedintheAppendix.(Warning-Inmanycasesthecorrosionproductonthereactivemetalstitaniumandzirconiumisahardandtightlybondedoxidethatdefiesremovalbychemicalorordinarymechanicalmeans.Inmanysuchcases,corrosionratesareestablishedbymassgainratherthanmassloss.)1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
